The Atomic Redster S9 FIS W is a true, women’s-specific slalom race ski with a full-length sidewall and a high-quality wood core that give this ski its powerful flex and transfer all the energy directly to the edges – for extra grip on every gate. Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from Atomic FIS athletes regarding the 22/23 model, only visual adjustments have been made to the new 23/24 model. Technically, the ski remains unchanged.
The Ultra Titanium Powered laminate runs from sidewall to sidewall, providing stability, torsional rigidity and edge grip so that laws of physics seem to be defied. The ski’s waist and length support its carving power and uncompromising manoeuvrability for fast edge changes between the gates. Two pad inserts under the binding also minimise mechanical abrasion.
Summary: the ultimate slalom ski for the World Cup, Continental Cup and for FIS female slalom skiers.
Difference “Icon” and “X” model
The skis are identical. The difference is in the plates and bindings.
“Icon” is the professional equipment from the World Cup. The “Icon” plate and especially the “Icon” binding were designed exclusively for semi-professional and professional racing. This combination is even more direct in swing control and has an extreme contact pressure. These bindings can only be used with racing ski boots, as the shell of classic ski boots would be too soft and could get pressure points at the holding points or even break. The lowest Z-value of the binding is so high that it is not possible to adjust the weight to the skier.
“X” is the most common “amateur” racing version known to date. Here there are also bindings that can be adjusted to the body weight.
